General Description
Forio Appio Mansio Hotel is situated along the Via Appia in what was once an old prestigious post office and now a home and a refuge for wandering travellers.
As soon as they enter, guests are welcomed into a relaxing atmosphere where the buildings stand along the river which flows slowly by, to the pavement which is disconnected from the old road, to the Foro Appio square - only a short walk away - behind the main building with the Casarillo di Santa Maria church rising behind it.
Here every space has conserved its original purpose, the old tavern which was praised by the poet Orazio, the church, the square, the large banqueting room and the important rooms decorated with unique antique furniture. The fireplaces present in some of the rooms blend the charm of a time gone by with the welcoming atmosphere of an open fire.
A private car park behind the hotel leads guests to the event rooms and the restaurant and is free for guest use.
