The Eolian Hotel is found in the centre of Baia di Ponente, the most charming town on Vulcano Island in the fascinating Archipelago of the Aeolian Islands.
Built in typical Aeolian style, the hotel consists of a central building and numerous rooms surrounded by the lush greenery of a Mediterranean garden, including palm trees, aloe and hibiscus trees.
The hotel provides a wide range of services to ensure the tranquillity and wellbeing of our guests throughout their stay; guests have access to a sea water swimming pool for adults and children, a tennis court and a thermal swimming pool with water that spouts from the hot springs at a temperature of 50° and is kept between 30° and 32°.
After relaxing in the thermal swimming pool, guests can enjoy an anti-stress massage or an Indian massage.
Black Sand Beach owes its famous colour to the volcano, and is located directly underneath the bar terrace and the restaurant. It provides the perfect place for children to go swimming while being watched by their parents.
The facilities also include extensive parking (reservations not available) and free transportation to and from the Port of Vulcano (with a reservation).
Numerous hiking tours and boat tours are available for guests to explore the island.

Surrounded by the lush greenery of a Mediterranean garden, the rooms of the Aeolian Hotel have a small patio and a characteristic canopy at the entrance held up by typical Aeolian Pulere columns.

The restaurant overlooks Black Sand Beach and has a breathtaking view of Lipari, Salina, Filicudi, and the characteristic Faraglioni.

The island of Vulcano can be reached year round by ferryboats and hydrofoil boats from the following ports:
- Milazzo with the Siremar NGI and Ustica Lines ferryboats.
- Reggio Calabria and Messina with USTICA Lines hydrofoil boats (two trips daily in the winter, several in the summer).
- Naples with Siremar boats (two trips weekly in the winter, and up to six trips weekly in the summer), or USTICA lines and SNAV hydrofoil boats during the summer with one or two trips daily.
- Palermo and Cefalù with USTICA Lines hydrofoil boats in the summer, with one or two trips daily. During the winter, there are three trips per week.
Guests are advised to embark from the Port of Milazzo (the closest port from where they can take the hydrofoil boat or ferryboat). The hydrofoil boats run frequently and on schedule. The hydrofoil boat trip takes 45 minutes, while the ferryboat takes around 90 minutes.
Transportation can be booked to and from the Port of Milazzo for a cost of €25 per person each way.
By train
The local railway station is the Milazzo station.
By plane
- From Stretto di Reggio Calabria Airport, buses are available to Messina. From Messina, take the USTICA Lines hydrofoil boat to Vulcano.
- From Catania – Fontanarossa International Airport, Giunta Bus shuttle services is available from June to September to the Port of Milazzo, operated by Siremar and USTICA Lines.
