Rapallo hardly features in tourism guide books yet is a fascinating town and an excellent base to explore the region - S. Margherita, Camogli, Recco, Portofino,S. Fruttouoso and the Cinque Terre towns. Rapallo's cableway takes you 600m up to the Montallegro Sanctuary providing spectacular views and dining. Markets are held every Thursday in front of the hotel and on the foreshore. This hotel excels in every way, with excellent accommodation, facilities and staff. Well travelled around the world, I can say that this hotel rated four star is far better than many five star hotels we have stayed in. The website does not do the breakfast justice - it takes seven photos to cover all that is on offer. We cant recommend Hotel Tuigillo Royale enough and will stay again, this time longer than our four night stay. It is well worth requesting and paying for a balcony room with a view. We chose this hotel as a base to explore the area of the Tigullio Gulf and are pleased we did.
