Negotiating the roads to get there during a driving rain storm was a challenge, but the people were very nice and the view was amazing. The Funicular worked well to get down to Como other than trying to figure out how to buy tickets when nothing was open.

This hotel is based in a beatiful small town up the hill called Brunate. You can drive there from Como or you can take the "Funicolare", which is an electric veicule that goes up the hill in 5-10 minutes (you can get amazing views from this journey).

On the first night it was really cold but not snowing, but when we woke up it was all completely covered in snow, really beautiful. I recommend you leave the car in Como and take the funicolare or even a taxi if you go in Winter, as the road can be cut and you'll get stuck up there.

The only not so positive facts from the hotel were the dinning quality-price relation and the fact that there are no stairs, only a very old elevator that sometimes didn't want to go to the 1st floor.

Overall, I recommend this hotel particularly in winter time and if you want to really take a relaxing and romantic time out.

La responsable nous a fait payer 25 euros de pénalité de retard (arrivée à 2h du matin) en plus du prix de la chambre sous prétexte que c'était écrit dans le contrat.

Je n'ai vu cette information nulle part lors de la réservation sur internet

De plus la personne qui nous a accueilli à 2h ne nous a rien dit, j'ai demandé si la chambre coutait bien 65 euros, la réponse fut oui.

ce n'est que le lendemain matin que nous avons eu la surprise de devoir payer le supplément. J'ai payé mais suis très insatisfait de cette pratique opaque et onéreuse.

Erste Nacht in einem sehr einfachen Zimmer ohne Balkon übernachtet.

Weitere Tage in einem guten Zimmer mit sehr schönen Aussicht übernachtet. Das Zimmer bekamen wir aufgrund unserer Anfrage.

Leider ergaben sich folgende Mängel in diesem Zimmer:

Toilettendeckel defekt,

Glasablage unter dem Spiegel war defekt,

in der Dusche fehlte eine Ablage für die Duschseife, Shampo etc.

Hotel sehr hellhörig - man konnte die Telefonate der Zimmernachbarin sehr gut verstehen.

Frühstück war sehr bescheiden, es dauerte eine Weile, bis überhaupt etwas nachgelegt wurde, außedem gab es nur eine Tasse Kaffe pro Person.

Verbindung zur Stadt mit der Seilbahn war gut, (auch wenn die Kosten von 4,50 € pro Person relativ hoch waren) mit dem eigenen Auto aufgrund der engen Straßen sehr schlecht

The quality of breakfast was not acceptable

This hotel is situated at the top of the Funicula above Como. Stunning views, an interesting village and beautiful church. Great local walks and views to Como and Lake. Excellent breakfasts. LocaL Laundromat has closed, means if needed to take laundry to Como. Hotel staff will assist by collecting same if required. 4.5 Euros return on Funicula, well worth staying in Brunate. Well worth doing Lake Ferry trip to Bellagio.

Wir waren für ein Wochenende mit Baby unterwegs. Das Hotel war sehr zuvorkommend, das Personal sehr freundlich. Wir haben gratis (was in Italien nicht selbstverständlich sein soll) ein sicheres und schönes Babybett bekommen.

Da es unten im Hotel ein bodenständiges Restaurant mit schmackhaften Speisen gibt, kann man dank Babyphon das Kind auf dem Zimmer schlafen lassen und selbst Essen gehen.

Spaziergang in Brunate (durch den Ort und auf den Berg zum Faro) lohnt sich sehr, der Blick ist grandios. Auch Como ist dank Zahnradbahn sehr gut und ohne Auto zu erreichen.

Fazit: Das Hotel ist einfach, aber sehr anständig und zu empfehlen.

Devono risolvere un problema con l'ascensore per evitare che la gente resti intrappolata ai piani e non possa scendere per la colazione.

Ottima la cena e pessima la colazione.

Vista la collocazione in montagna il prezzo mi è sembrato un pò elevato
