If you want to feel like part of Rome then this is great. If you want a regular hotel then maybe this isn't for you. The rooms are part of an apartment block - so you are in with locals. The location was great - especially good for the metro - which made getting round easy. Breakfast was better than expected - croissants, rolls, jams, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juices and coffee. Our room was really lovely - heaps of charm - a double bed in one room and the kids were in single beds in another (almost like a mini-suite) although the room my friends were in was a bit small. Air-conditioning worked. Booking in was a bit of an adventure despite having 24hour desk service - it wasn't really that simple. We would certainly stay there again!!!

The hotel is strategically located between S. Maria Maggiore and the Colosseum with bars, restaurants and a lovely piazza just around the corner. It comprises several appartments in a normal townhouse, the rooms are rather spacious with an ensuite bathroom (I just had to mop the floor twice because you had to take the shower in your hand in order not to flood the floor), ours had a chemical toilet (which might not be that uncommon in centuryold houses where you can't redo all the pipes), which however worked very well. Breakfast is served in the restaurant opposite the Dimora and was impressingly opulent (as opposed to the usual Roman breakfast). Certainly a place to be recommended!
