Tha family run Albergo Le Macinaie is situated in an area surrounded by a large forest of Italian beech trees, 1400 metres above sea level, with a spectacular view over Mount Amiata.
The hotel is set in an old chestnut windmill dating back to the last century, carefully reworked in a warm, friendly Tuscan style, the perfect choice for those who want to go hiking, orienteering, cycling, or ride motorbikes or quads and also for those looking to breathe the fresh air in the peaceful, green surrounding hills.
The owners are always available to suggest trips to nearby producers of local produce, natural parks, villages, thermal spas or to book entry to the acrobatic tree park "parco acrobatico sugli alberi".
Guests have access to a private relaxation area with a sauna, a hydromassage tub, a UV sunbed, multi sensory treatments and a gym. For children there is an exclusive play area with video games and a ball pool. There is an Internet access point and free Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel.

Restauracja i Bar
The à la carte restaurant serves traditional local produce including chestnuts, mushrooms, oil, wine and cheese from the Mount Amiata area.
The wide range of products combine to offer an excellent cuisine based on delicious soups, homemade pasta and roasts. The chefs also prepare the region's famous mushroom soup and "cappelle di porcini" roasted Porcini mushrooms.
The buffet breakfast includes homemade cakes and tarts.

From the north
Take the A1 Milano – Firenze motorway to the Firenze - Impruneta exit. From here, take the Firenze - Siena expressway towards Siena. Continue towards Grosseto until reaching Paganico and follow the directions for Castel del Piano, Vetta Monte Amiata, and Prato delle Macinaie; the hotel is located 9km away.
From the south
Take the A1 Napoli – Milano motorway to the Orvieto exit. Head towards Castel San Giorgio and then to Acquapendente. Turn onto the SS2 Cassia state road towards Siena until reaching Km 147, then turn left towards Piancastagnaio. After having passed the town, follow the directions on the left for Vetta Monte Amiata, Prato della Macinaie.
From the east
Take the A1 Milano – Napoli motorway to the Valdichiana exit. Head towards Pienza, then Abbadia San Salvatore. Before entering town, follow the directions for Vetta Monte Amiata, and after 7km, turn right towards Prato delle Macinaie.
