Hotel Villa Selene is located on a hill, at an altitude of 700 metres, in a peaceful, woody and panoramic area bordering the spurs of the Gennargentu Massif, within sight of the sea and the beautiful beaches on the east coast of Sardinia (Cea at Barisardo and Orrì at Tortolì). Surrounded by vast woods containing a private natural spring with water flowing from a granitic source, the hotel was opened in 1968 and has been run by the same family ever since. Suitably renovated and refurbished it has 4 main buildings, some of which are communicating. It has 70 rooms with bathrooms, various public areas and lounges with easy access for the disabled. Other facilities include a pool table, a swimming pool, mini golf and a large open-air car park for cars and coaches.
Hotel Villa Selene makes a perfect base for outdoor activities (trekking, mountain bike riding, canoeing, horse riding, climbing and bird watching), for discovering a different and largely unknown Sardinia and for enjoying breathtaking views of its nature, which is still wild and uncontaminated. Guests can spend a day on the "green train" that passes between the mountains and local towns and pauses to allow time for a picnic lunch or lunch in a typical restaurant; or they can spend a day on a boat along the bays of the Gulf of Orosei from Arbatax to Cala Gonone (lunch available on board), which on request will leave passengers in a bay of their choice and collect them on the boat’s return journey.

The hotel has 70 large rooms including singles, doubles and triples, and doubles for single, triple and quadruple occupancy, sleeping up to 150 guests.
Every room has a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a desk, an en-suite bathroom with a bath or shower, air-conditioning, central heating, a small fridge, a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone and a colour TV. Many of the rooms have a small private terrace or garden with a panoramic view.
The room rate includes a buffet breakfast.

Restaurante e Bar
The hotel has two large and bright restaurants, seating 120 and 80 people, which offer a breathtaking view of the green hills and blue sea. The dining rooms are heated and air-conditioned and offer easy access for the disabled. Weddings, banquets, buffets and special events can also be hosted. The restaurant is open from 8 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. for breakfast, from 1 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. for lunch and from 8 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. for dinner.
The bar, open till midnight, has both comfortable armchairs in front of a welcoming fireplace, and tables and chairs on the adjacent outdoor terrace, which offers the same breathtaking view as the dining rooms.
The day begins with an extensive buffet breakfast including sliced meats, cheeses, boiled eggs and a wide choice of homemade specialities: small cream puffs, jam filled crêpes, fresh yoghurt and steaming cups of hot chocolate.
The restaurant serves national cuisine together with typical dishes from Ogliastra and Sardinia, including "culurgionis" (homemade ravioli filled with a mixture potatoes and mint), Sardinian sausages prepared by the chef, "su porceddu" (barbecued suckling pig), and traditional fish dishes.

Hotel Villa Selene is located 1 km away from Lanusei town centre, to be precise at km 90, 550 of the SS198 road.
The hotel can be easily reached by car from Sardinia’s three main airports, Cagliari, Olbia and Alghero, and from the ports of Arbatax, Cagliari, Olbia and Porto Torres.
From Cagliari: SS554 road towards Quartu Sant'Elena; at the Quartucciu crossroads, turn for Muravera taking the SS125 road towards Tertenia. Proceed on the “SS198” road.
From Olbia: Road for Siniscola - Nuoro - Lanusei.
From Porto Torres and Alghero: take the road towards Sassari, then the SS131 road and continue till you reach the Nuoro – Lanusei deviation.
From Arbatax: take the road for Ilbono - Lanusei.
