How to reach the hotel

By car

The “SS38 dello Stelvio” road crosses the Alta Valtellina area, travelling up the Adda da Colico Valley to the pass that it is named after, and then down to the Venosta Valley. Bormio is the departure point for both the “SS301 del Foscagno” road to Livigno and the “SS300 del Gavia” road to Santa Caterina Valfurva and the Camonica Valley (summer road link).

Summer access routes

From Milan (200 km): clearway to Colico in the direction of Lecco, then the SS38 road towards Sondrio - Bormio.

From Bolzano (“Autostrada del Brennero” motorway): proceed through the Stelvio Pass.

From the Triveneto area, proceed through the Tonale Pass and the Gavia Pass.

From Engadina, pass through the Forcola Pass and the Bernina Pass.

Winter access routes

Passo del Gallo tunnel (closed at nighttime) for those arriving from Engadina, Alto Adige or Austria.

From central and southern Italy: Bologna – Milan motorway; follow the signs marked “da Milano”.

Modena - Brennero motorway, “Brescia Ovest” exit; take the SS510 road towards Boario Terme, the SS42 road towards Edolo, and then the SS39 road towards Aprica - Tirano - Bormio.

From the north: pass through Tirano - Bernina Pass (open all year round), and as an alternative from

Livigno - Zernez – Drossa Tunnel (open all year round from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.).

By train

The closest train station is Tirano (40 km away from Bormio), which is the terminal for both the Ferrovie Italiane and Ferrovie Retiche railways.

Santa Maria Pass 2,502 metres (from Switzerland), connected to the road leading from Stelvio to Bormio, open from May to November.

Forcola Pass 2,315 metres (from Switzerland) descending to Livigno, open from May to November.
