Recensioni Hotel Relais San Lorenzo - Lucca

As a single woman, I had an unpleasant experience at this hotel for the following reasons:

1. very Noisy room facing street

2. rude woman at breakfast, apparently the owner, who told me not to sit where I had chosen but where there was a single cup at the darkest table and that I could not change to an inside quieter room for the next night

3 Difficulty accessing hotel as no obvious visible indication of the hotel from the street.

the helpful staff were Elena and Anil (cleaner) who went out of their way to assist me.

detailed explanation

The hotel is on the 3rd floor of a normal building and there is with no obvious indication of the hotel from the street other than a small sign near the doorbell adjacent to the closed front doors. I rang the bell continuously and there was no reply for at least 5 minutes it seemed. I was concerned about whether or not I was going to actually checkin as I had booked online. Finally the cleaner answered and he was extremely helpful but I still had trouble opening the huge doors once he had activated them. He had to come down and open them

The room looked lovely and I decided to stay another night as soon as I checked in. Howeever I barely slept that night as there was so much street noise and I turned on the airconditioner to try to dampen the sound but this was noisy too. The following morning I asked to be moved to an inside room but was refused because the problem was a Saturday night and Sunday would be quiet. There was less noise but still enough to keep waking me up.

La partie hôteliére est séparée de la partie réception , TRES MAL SIGNALEE,ouverte qu'à certaines heures( environ à 200 m),

Par ailleurs, ville trés intéressante. A VOIR.

È assurdo fare la colazione in un unioco tavolo per 6 posti con persone estranee e fare in fretta per lasciare il posto ad altri ospiti che sono seduti in un divano , ubicato nella stessa sala.

The directions getting off the A1 were not good. Had difficulty getting into Lucca, then could not find the Hotel even though we were on the right street. Stopped and ask a shop owner. No one in shop knew of Hotel Relais San Lorenzo but sent us around the corner to another Hotel. It turned out that the people there were managing Relais San Lorenzo and checked us in and took us over to our hotel. There was a SMALL sign with name beside a door that was locked for the Hotel Relais San Lorenzo. We spoke with another couple that had found the sign and waited for over half an hour before someone came along to let them in.

When we did go in, it was into a very large emply room with a few half dead plants. A very weird feeling to it. Then several locked doors before getting to our room. It was OK, but not as nice as we had expected. I would not stay there again.

En fait c'est un très grand appartement avec un nombre limité de chambre plein de charme et très bien restauré, parfaitement bien situé en plein centre, par contre accès impossible en voiture et parking éloigné --> pour le transport des bagages ce n'est pas évident.

Comme ce n'est pas un hotel, il n'y a pas d'acceuil sur place hormis le matin, d'ou un jeu de piste pour récupérer la clé. Toutes ces explications devraient être fournies avant l'arrivée.
